Understanding and monitoring your Parkinson's symptoms is a vital part of managing your health journey.
My CareCycle offers two ways to track your symptoms:
1. During Mood Check-ins
• When logging your mood, you can note which symptoms are affecting how you feel
• This helps identify connections between your symptoms and emotional well-being
2. Independent Symptom Tracking
• Track symptoms at any time, regardless of mood entries
• Monitor frequency and intensity over time
• Create a detailed record of your symptom patterns
Why Track Symptoms?
• Helps identify patterns in your symptoms
• Provides accurate information for your healthcare team
• Helps evaluate medication effectiveness
• Creates a reliable record between appointments
• Helps you notice changes over time
The symptom tracking feature is designed to be quick and simple to use, making it easier to maintain consistent records of your Parkinson's journey.
There are two easy ways to access symptom tracking:
1. Quick Access
From the Main Screen, tap the Symptoms button (clipboard icon) in the Quick Actions section
This opens the Track Symptoms screen directly
Best for logging symptoms independently
2. Through Mood Check-in
When logging your mood, scroll to the Symptoms Affecting Mood section
This helps connect symptoms to how you're feeling
Useful for understanding how symptoms impact your well-being
The Track Symptoms Screen
Shows a list of common Parkinson's symptoms
Allows you to toggle which symptoms you're experiencing
Lets you rate the severity of each symptom
Includes an option to add custom symptoms
TIPS FOR LOGGING SYMPTOMS:
Try to log your symptoms at consistent times each day, such as:
First thing in the morning
Before or after taking medications
When you notice significant changes
Before bed
Remember: There's no need to wait for symptoms to become severe - tracking mild symptoms can help identify patterns early.
The Track Symptoms screen makes it easy to record what you're experiencing right now.
Common Symptoms
• You'll see a list of typical Parkinson's symptoms (like "Tremors", "Rigidity")
• Each symptom has a toggle switch next to it
• Tap the switch so it turns green to indicate you're experiencing that symptom
• Switches left off (gray) won't be included in this log entry
Rating Severity
• For each active symptom, you'll see "How severe is it?"
• Choose from five levels:
Very Mild - Barely noticeable
Mild - Present but not bothersome
Moderate - Noticeable and affecting activities
Severe - Significantly impacting your day
Very Severe - Extremely difficult to manage
Adding Custom Symptoms
• Don't see a symptom you're experiencing? Tap "Other"
• Type in the name of your symptom
• Rate its severity just like the listed symptoms
• Your custom symptoms will be saved for future use
TIPS FOR ACCURATE TRACKING
• Be consistent with your severity ratings
• Track symptoms even when mild
• Log multiple times if severity changes
• Use the same terms for custom symptoms
• Consider tracking at similar times each day
Remember: Your symptom log helps build a detailed picture of your health over time. This information can be valuable for discussions with your healthcare team.
After recording your symptoms and their severity levels, you'll want to save this information to your health record.
