Medication management is crucial for Parkinson's symptoms. My CareCycle helps you track your medications, schedule doses, and monitor their effectiveness over time.
The Medication screen is divided into several sections to help you manage your daily medication routine:

The Today's Medications screen organizes your daily medications by time, making it easy to track what you've taken and what's coming up.
The dashboard organizes today's doses so you can see what needs attention:
Due Now — time to take now
Not logged yet — past doses you haven't recorded
Earlier Today — doses you've already logged
Due Soon and Coming Up — upcoming doses later today
Each dose shows the medication name, scheduled time, and whether it is due or overdue. Tap Log when you're ready to record it.
Important Notes:
Medications automatically sort by time
Status updates in real-time
Missed doses remain visible for tracking
All changes sync across your devices using iCloud
Add a new medication
Add a new medication
You add a new medication by tapping the plus button in the upper right corner of the screen, or if opening the app for the first time, tap the Add Medication button on the screen.
When tapped you are presented with this view:
Medication Name:
Enter the name of your medication in the text field
Dosage:
Amount: Enter the numerical value
Unit: Select from:
tablet(s)
mg (milligrams)
mcg (micrograms)
ml (milliliters)
Route: Choose how you take the medication:
Oral
Injection
Topical
Inhaled
Set Schedule:
Tap to set up your daily medication times
Shows "0 times daily" until scheduled
Track On/Off Times:
Toggle switch to enable/disable tracking
When enabled, you'll be prompted to record how well the medication worked each time you take it
Controls:
Cancel: Discard changes and return
Save: Store the new medication

After adding your medication details, tap Set Schedule to configure when you take your medication.
Schedule Type:
Choose from two options:
Specific Times: Set exact times for your doses
Recurring: Set up doses at regular intervals
Tap the info (i) icon for more details about each type
Daily Schedule:
Tap "+ Add Time" to set a new medication time
Use the time picker to select when you take your medication
Each added time will appear in the list below
Tap any existing time to remove it
Controls:
Cancel: Return without saving changes
Done: Save your schedule and return
Important Notes:
- You can add multiple times for the same medication
- The app will warn you if medications are scheduled too close together
- All times are shown in 24-hour format for clarity

Medication Reminders:
You'll receive a notification at your scheduled dose time. If you take several medications at the same time, they are grouped into one reminder that lists each name.
As Needed medications (PRN) are not scheduled and do not send reminders.
Tap the notification to open Today's Medications. Your notified medications are highlighted. Tap Log on the dose you want to record.
Medication Log Screen:
Tap Log on a scheduled dose to open the logging screen.
At the top you'll see the medication name and scheduled time.
Choose a status:
Taken — you took the medication
Missed — you did not take it
Delayed — you took it later than scheduled
Timing Options:
By default, the app uses your scheduled time when you log Taken or Delayed.
Turn on I took it at a different time if you took the medication at another time or on another day. A date and time picker will appear so you can record when it actually happened.
If you log more than five minutes after the scheduled time, or log a dose from a previous day, you may be asked: Did you take it at the scheduled time? Choose Yes to keep the scheduled time, or Select Actual Time to enter the real time.
For Missed, you can optionally record when the dose was due.

Understanding how well your medications work is crucial for managing Parkinson's symptoms. Each person responds differently to medications, and their effectiveness can change over time.
When you record a medication's effectiveness:
Rate the Effectiveness:
Choose from five options:
Not Effective (sad face with tear)
Slightly (slight frown)
Moderate (neutral face)
Very (slight smile)
Extremely (big smile)
Record Timing:
Started Working shows when effects began
Select the duration by:
Tapping preset times (1h, 2h, 3h, 4h, 6h)
Using + and - buttons to adjust
"Wears off at" automatically calculates based on duration
Duration Details:

Motor State Diary
Motor State Diary
Understanding how well your medications work is crucial for managing Parkinson's symptoms. Each person responds differently to medications, and their effectiveness can change over time.
One of the items you might monitor is the motor state over the time period that you were on your logged dose.
Even though there is a Motor State module you can use to log your state for the last 24 hours, on the medication effectiveness screen there is a mini motor state diary that is linked to the larger version.
This Diary shows the 3 hours PRIOR to the medication you are logging.
